Opening a bottle is more than a gesture — it’s a ritual.
And what if that ritual became a sensory, intimate, and memorable experience?
The Ouvre-Vin by Forest Audiard is not just an object to be used — it is an object to be lived, and passed on. Sculpted from the imprint of its owner’s hand, it becomes the extension of a bond, a story, a memory to be shared.
“I didn’t even have my grandfather’s corkscrew…”
This sentence, once confided by a winemaker friend, inspired a singular creation: a sculptural corkscrew, a discreet memorial, a companion for every tasting.
Whether for a birthday, a grand celebration, or to thank a true wine lover, the Ouvre-Vin is an object to live with. It adapts to your hand, gives voice to the bottles, and revives a gesture inherited.
Its mysterious form echoes the hollow of the palm. Its use reveals its vocation: to be held, activated, passed on.
“Placing your hand in someone else’s imprint is to find them again. It is to bring a bond back to life.” — Michel Audiard
At Forest Audiard, we believe the most beautiful objects are those that live between the hands.
The ones we use, keep close, and ultimately pass on.
The Ouvre-Vin is the perfect expression of this belief: each piece is a bespoke sculpture, shaped from a unique imprint — that of a father, a grandfather, a friend, a partner.
Each time the hand finds its place within it, a fragment of connection comes back to life.
It is a functional object, yes — but above all, it is an object of memory.
The one we bring out for meaningful bottles.
The one we give, sometimes.
And one day, hand down to someone else, in silence.
Like all our creations, the Ouvre-Vin is cast in our art foundry in Rochecorbon, in the heart of Loire Valley, in France.
It is then hand-chiseled and polished with the utmost care.
It is delivered on its base, as a sculptural piece.
It is made to be used — and should be — but also to be admired, displayed, and shared.
Like a talisman of conviviality.
Whether for an anniversary, a grand celebration, or to honor a wine‑loving friend or partner, L’Ouvre‑Vin is a gesture of refinement, sculpted on his own hand, that transcends time. It is the thoughtful tribute to someone who understands that genuine luxury is rooted in emotion, ritual and legacy.
“L’Ouvre‑Vin is the hand that shares. A tool for the hedonist. An object that says ‘thank you.’”
— Sébastien Forest
No, it is not a requirement. We would be delighted to welcome you to our art foundry in Rochecorbon, in the heart of Loire Valley, in France. But we can also travel anywhere in France to take the imprint — whether at your home or in a place that holds meaning for you. (And if you’re abroad, we also have solutions available.) This moment, too, becomes a memory in itself. Each Ouvre-Vin is sculpted from the actual imprint of its owner’s hand. It is then cast in bronze in our Touraine foundry, before being hand-chiseled and polished with care. It is a sculpture to live with, crafted to last. Every piece is unique and requires 10 to 12 weeks of work, carried out by women and men with exceptional savoir-faire.
The Ouvre-Vin is the perfect gift for a wine lover, a true epicurean, or a remarkable partner. It is often given for birthdays, or as a refined gesture of appreciation to a client, a friend, or a trusted and loyal collaborator. The Ouvre-Vin is what’s missing from the lives of those who already have everything.
Yes, our Ouvre-Vins are fully functional objects, designed to be used. They are authentic corkscrews — but they are also works of art. Each Ouvre-Vin is delivered on its base, both a piece of art and a tasting companion. A deeply sensory and emotional way to bring art into everyday life.
